I have just spent the last 2 days changing a clutch in a £100,000 1966 4.0 L, Aston Martin DB5 and I'm bloody freezing.

As you can I had to take the whole interior out and part of the lower dash just to get to the gearbox cover, but at least she is all back together again now and running as sweet as a nut.

Now you see, I did think of asking that as I did actually know that James Bond had an Aston Martin, but thought if I was wrong I'd look daft!! Embarassed

I take it it is yours Colin? Do you use it or show it or is it just your hobby?

lol! I so wish it was mine, but sadly it's not.
It belongs to a friend of mine that has also got a Jaguar series 1 E-type and a MK2, and I do alot of work of them for him.

The problem was that the Aston Martin main dealership wanted to charge him just under £3,000 labour to do the job, and that's on top of the £900 it cost for the clutch kit, so I told him that if supplied the clutch kit I would fit it for him for just £600, which I thought was a good deal, and as my normal job has sort of dried up at the moment, I not only had the time, but the money also came in handy as well.
